I was fortunate to be introduced to a great tool for personal development a few years ago.  StrengthFinders is survey style program that identifies personalized strengths.  In addition to the Strengths Insights an Action-Planning Guide is created.  I’ve decided to share a summary of my top five strength themes.  These themes showcase my ability as a strong leader and support my career as a Tour Manager.

Input:  “People who are especially talented in the Input theme have a craving to know more.  Often they like to collect and archive all kinds of information.”
*  Enjoys sharing acquired knowledge and instructing others
*  Likely to recount, tell in detail – stories and experiences
*  Delights in evoking images in your listeners’ minds that bring enjoyment

Maximizer:  “People who are especially talented in the Maximizer theme focus on strengths as a way to stimulate personal and group excellence.  They seek to transform something strong into something superb.”
*  By nature you have a gift for talking about certain ideas or feelings
*  Accepting of human beings just as they are and celebrates unique talents
*  Instinctively leads, solves problems and reaches goals

Adaptability:  “People who are especially talented in the Adaptability theme prefer to ‘go with the flow.’  They tend to be ‘now’ people who take things as they come and discover the future one day at a time.”
*  Takes time to envision how you will react to future situations
*  Forethought helps you adjust to unexpected problems
*  Realizes that each day offers surprises and trusts they can be handled

Intellection:  “People who are especially talented in the Intellection theme are characterized by their intellectual activity.  They appreciate intellectual discussions and often give good advice.”
*  Making discoveries that can help others brings you much joy
*  Instinctively rely on your passion for reading to launch conversations
*  An active listener

Futuristic:  “People who are especially talented in the Futuristic theme are inspired by the future and what it could be.  They inspire others with their vivid visions of the future.”
*  You think in terms of possibilities
*  Remains upbeat in the face of life’s difficulties and unpredictability
*  An imagination that allows you to peer into the future and set a direction
